Electrostatic Headphone offers one of the best sound you can find on the Head-fi Market, and ES-1a stands above most other commercial electrostatics and are designed with little compromises. ES-1a features a 90mm wide circular electrostatic driver which is rarely seen in other electrostatics. Such design facilitates speaker-like imaging and soundstage. Moreover, We source our micron-level diaphragm film from Dupont because of its outstanding mechanical strength.
The geometry of the electrode takes references from mesh electrodes as well as plate electrodes. By combining the merits of the two, red copper plate electrodes with a high perforation percentage and small thickness (0.3mm) are adopted in our design. This allows free moving of air and provides great transparency of sound.
The sheep-leather earpads and headpad on ES-1a are exclusive and tailor-made for our product. We come down on the current plastoelasticity of foam, shape of pads ,choice of leather and many other factors after hours of listening. We do also encourage users to try out third-party earpads on es1a for a different sound presentation.
ES-1a do not compromise on quality of material outside the driver. Cnc-machined aluminium enclosures and nylon plastic components are used on ES-1a to achieve a high rigidity and durability. More Importantly, ES-1a uses ribbon cables specialised for electrostatic headphones to minimize the effect of cables on signal transmission.
